The 27th Festival de musique baroque de Lyon (Rhône-Alpes) will take place from 28 November 2009
to 26 May 2010.
Three baroque music virtuosi will take to the stage to commemorate the births
of Purcell (1659) and Pergolese (1710), and
the death of Handel (1759).
Baroque music will fill the Chapelle de la Trinité and the Cathédrale
Saint-Jean in Lyon for a series of concerts.
Programme: hymns, concertos, vocal and instrumental
ensembles, etc. You will also have the chance to discover Purcell’s Funeral
Sentences, Pergolese’s famous Stabat mater and Handel’s first
successful oratorio, Athalia.
