La Cité de la Mode et du Design, Paris Opening its doors in 2009 during the spring The love story between Paris and fashion is definitely stronger than ever. A new place devoted to fashion will open its doors on the Left Bank near Austerlitz as part of the Docks de Paris regeneration plans. Fashion shows will take place on the first floor, which houses an exhibition area, the French Fashion Institute and a lecture theatre. Opening of the Musée des Impressionnismes, Giverny, Normandy 1st May to 15th August 2009, inaugural exhibition This new Museum will be dedicated primarily to Impressionism and replaces the Museum of American Art. The inaugural exhibition, Monet’s Garden in Giverny, will assemble approximately twenty paintings by Claude Monet, as well as views of his garden painted by artists of the Giverny colony like John L.Breck. www.maag.org
